Senior Software Development
In Würzburg or remotely / starting immediately / full-time
We are a multi-award-winning user interface design studio that creates innovative and ergonomic industrial software. With our own product, HELIO, we are developing web-based industrial HMI software that enables users worldwide to create intuitive user interfaces for demanding industrial applications – no-code, with SDK and API.
To further develop HELIO, we are looking for an experienced professional to support us with design and development on the client side (TypeScript, React) and server side (Rust), and to help us shape the future of the software architecture. You will work directly with the management team on technical decisions, help shape the roadmap, and contribute your expertise both to the code and to our team.
As we are a small team, we place great value on independent and reliable work. You know best when and where you can do your work most effectively. You can therefore set your own working hours and decide whether you wish to work in the office or remotely. We can still exchange ideas and questions at any time via Slack, GitHub and other collaboration tools.
Your responsibilities
- Designing and developing new features for HELIO
- Development on the client side (TypeScript, React) and on the server side (Rust)
- Helping to shape the software architecture: module boundaries, interfaces, SDK and API design
- Making technical decisions, documenting them and communicating them to the team
- Code reviews and mentoring junior developers and working students
- Focus on performance, maintainability and quality – HELIO is a long-lasting product
- Close collaboration with Design, UX and Usability Engineering within an interdisciplinary team
What we are looking for
- Several years’ professional experience in software development
- Very good knowledge of TypeScript and React (component architecture, state management, performance, modern tooling)
- Experience with software architecture and clean API design
- Solid understanding of web standards (HTTP, WebSockets, browser APIs)
- Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows
- Strong communication skills, pragmatism and a desire to shape things together
- A strong willingness to learn; technologies and requirements are constantly evolving, and so are we
- Excellent German and good English skills
What we’re looking for
- Experience with Rust in a backend context – or a willingness to learn
- Experience with editor- or IDE-like applications in the browser
- Experience with SDK/plugin architectures and extension APIs
- Experience with industrial systems (e.g. OPC UA, MQTT, PLC integrations)
- Experience with data visualisation and real-time data in the UI
- Experience with design systems and close collaboration between design and development
- Personal projects, open-source contributions or code you’d like to show us
What awaits you
- A key role in the further development of HELIO with international clients
- Genuine involvement in shaping the architecture and technical roadmap
- Direct communication with senior management – short lines of communication, quick decisions
- An interdisciplinary team of developers, designers and usability engineers
- Fair pay and opportunities for personal development
Your benefits
- Remote or home office option and flexible working hours; whatever suits you best
- Option for a 4-day or 32-hour working week
- 28 days’ holiday + special leave (e.g. for voluntary work)
- Opportunities for further training, attendance at conferences, educational leave
- Participation in various team events
- Working in an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable company
- Health promotion via Hansefit
- Jobrad (e-bike leasing up to €4,000 with no additional payment)
- Deutschlandticket
- Bahncard 50 2nd class (for frequent travellers)
